Default e/me anti-tank build

heya guys im trying to build an anti-tank using earth and illusion magic and i need some feedback.

here is what i have so far
stone daggers
obsidian flame
kinetic armour
distortion
aura of restoration
ethereal burden
conjure phantasm
pahntom pain

throw on ethereal burden to slow warrior down (also gives energy boost when it expires) cast kinetic armour and distortion and you can safely laugh at his puny attempts to hit you lol... just make sure you keep recasting distortion when it expires. the problem im having is although i can stand there and take the pounding but i cant do enough focused damgae to overcome any healing.

what do you guys suggest?

Get conjure out, put clumsiness in. You don't have an elite. I recommend Ineptitude. Ethereal Burden takes 3s to cast, really long. I like Imagined better.

I suggest (I'm assuming PvP, if it's PvE it still works, I guess), basing it on your build (Then again, you don't get targeted that much in PvP anyways...Arenas, maybe):

Energy Storage: 8 +1
Earth Magic: 11 +1 +1
Illusion: 11

Obsidian Flame
Armor of Earth
Ward Against Melee (PvP)/Crystal Wave (PvE)
Distortion
Clumsiness
Imagined Burden (Any other slowdown will do, though)
Ineptitude {E}
Sympathetic Visage

This works so much better with a Mesmer primary...

thanks for the response.
i prefer ethereal burdun for the energy gain when it expires but since i have a large energy pool ill try imagined instead.
if i take conjure phantasm out im losing a DoT spell and my major problem is lack of dmg output with this build.
ill try armour of earth see how that compares to kinetic. i chose kinetic because it renews whenever you cast a spell... so one less defense to manage.
i like the idea of sympathetic visage though ill have a playwith that one later.

can you suggest any ways of getting my dmg output up without sacrificing too much in the way of defensive buffs? i chose illusion because distortion is low cost effective and you get no downtime with it.. its the best evade skill out there imo. would i be better on average going to another attribute and dropping distortion?

Mesmers aren't known for their damage potential . Ineptitude and Clumsiness already make for quite a lot of damage

Unless you get Empathy in or something, it's hard for DoT. Conjure Phantasm is a horrible spell. A few seconds of 10 health per second is nothing. Unless you're playing with Arena.

trues but im also a ele primary so the char has plenty of damage potential.. im just having trouble unlocking that potential whilst maintaining its tank capabilities

Well, let's say...Elementalists are rather lacking in damage over time spells and general ability. I rather you dump your Earth Magic into wards and get your teammates to damage.

If you expect to chat with this tank face to face, there are other obvious skills from the mesmer line, like SV (which can also be cast on teammates).

this is how i anti-tank with my ele
E/ME
air magic 16
energy 12 (i think)
domination magic 8

Skills
Lighting Orb
Chain Lightning
Blinding Flash
Lightning Strike
Empathy
Backfire/Air Attunement/Clumsiness (w/e u want
Thunderclap {E}/ Lightning Surge {E}/ Elemental Attunement {E}

I rarely use elemental attunement since air spells have a relatively low energy cost.
What i do is cast Thunderclap, this lets them know ur there, and start hitting them with my staff which slows them down getting to you letting you have more time to get the 15 energy you lost from thunderclap back. then when he gets close hit him with blinding flash and empathy. You can just let keep blinding flash and empathy up and let them do the dirty work, or spam lightning orb and and lightning strike to make things go faster.
This build doessnt work as well in PvP since (most) people will stop attacking if they have empathy on them but i have taken out quite a few tanks in pvp with it.
